Chelsie Webster has
always embraced the role of a lifelong learner, believing that curiosity and enthusiasm can open doors to unexpected opportunities. Known for her boundless energy and passion for fostering connections, she’s even been described (affectionately, of course) as “too enthusiastic” on occasion—a label she wears with pride.
Her career journey began with a foundation in education, earning both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education from The Ohio State University. This academic grounding sparked a passion for creating environments where people of all ages could explore, grow, and thrive.
Chelsie’s professional path truly took off during her nearly decade-long tenure at COSI, the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus, Ohio. Rising through multiple roles, she honed her skills in program development, team leadership, and community engagement. From leading national outreach programs like COSI on Wheels to pioneering Ohio’s largest STEM event with the COSI Science Festival, she made her mark as an innovative museum leader with a knack for making big ideas a reality.
In 2023, Chelsie took on the role of CEO at the Modesto Children’s Museum, where she spearheaded the museum’s grand opening and first year of operations. Under her leadership, MoChiMu exceeded its attendance, fundraising, and engagement goals, showcasing her ability to unite teams and inspire a shared vision. Her work continues to reflect her belief that play is a transformative force, capable of bringing communities together and nurturing lifelong learners of all ages.
When she’s not busy dreaming up new ways to connect people through playful learning, Chelsie can often be found exploring the outdoors with her partner Jimmy, caring for community cats, or diving headfirst into her next project with her trademark enthusiasm.
